Diagnostic Services for Dogs and Cats in Waynesville
When something feels off with your pet, getting clear information quickly can make all the difference. Maple Tree Veterinary Hospital offers in-house laboratory testing and digital imaging to help our veterinarians better understand what’s happening, identify concerns, and build an appropriate care plan.
Looking Beneath the Surface
Pets can’t tell us exactly where it hurts or what feels different. That’s where diagnostic testing becomes so valuable.
Maple Tree’s fully equipped in-house laboratory allows our team to perform a range of common tests without sending every sample elsewhere. Current capabilities include chemistry panels, CBCs, urinalysis, heartworm testing, fecal exams, and feline leukemia and FIV testing. The hospital also performs pre-anesthetic bloodwork to help identify health concerns that could affect an upcoming procedure.
Labwork can support both sick-pet care and routine Wellness Care. Testing gives our veterinarians additional information about your pet’s internal health and can help establish useful baselines for comparison over time.
Digital Radiology for a Closer Look
Maple Tree also offers digital radiography, or X-rays, to evaluate structures and systems that can’t be assessed from the outside alone. X-rays can help our team examine areas including the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary systems. When appropriate, Maple Tree can also obtain consultations from board-certified radiologists.
Digital imaging can be especially useful when we’re investigating concerns such as injuries, changes in mobility, or suspected internal abnormalities.
Ultrasound and Advanced Evaluation
Maple Tree’s hospital expansion includes a special procedures room used primarily for ultrasound, giving the medical team another way to investigate internal structures when more detailed imaging is needed.
Different diagnostic tools answer different questions. Depending on your pet’s symptoms and exam findings, your veterinarian may recommend laboratory testing, X-rays, ultrasound, or a combination of approaches.
The goal is always the same: gather the information we need to understand your pet’s condition and make thoughtful decisions about the next step.
